Grateful Nation Montana Memorial
“In November 2011, a crowd of more than 800 veterans and military supporters travelled to Missoula from around Montana and the country to stand by the families of the 41 Montana soldiers who died in Iraq or Afghanistan, and to participate in this moving ceremony. Among other featured speakers, U.S. Senator Max Baucus offered an emotional tribute to the sacrifice of his nephew, Marine Corporal Phillip Baucus, who died in 2006, as well as to the other 40 Montana soldiers being honored by the Memorial. Grateful Nation Montana – the charity behind the Memorial, is the brainchild of David Bell and John McCarrick, two insurance industry executives, with the aim of guaranteeing a college education to the child of any Montana serviceman or woman killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.”
Warriors and Quiet Waters
This is a short documentary with incredible imagery about a foundation that brings traumatically injured US service people out to the streams of Montana, so they may find recreational therapy and tranquility. The things they have experienced is beyond belief. The healing they experience on the Montana rivers is astonishing..
